for dragonwhishes
This image is for [info]dragonwhishes, and it's of her original character - or at least, how I imagine she could look.

I hope it's something even vaguely right for you - it's hard drawing something out of someone else's head! I'm not sure if she looks like how you would have imagined her, but if not, just think of her as inspired by your character. But I hope you liiiiike! And I'm so so so sorry it took so long.

FUN FACTS:
here is the black & white sketch, which I still really like.
• never watch a Massive Black tutorial midway through a drawing, you'll just cry.
• this is the first full-body rendering type thing I've done in forever and ever.
• this was done entirely with the chalk brush in photoshop.
• it nearly broke my head for some reason, maybe it's because I'm HIDEOUSLY OUT OF PRACTICE WITH CLOTHES.
• the final PSD file had 63 layers. WUT.
• thanks to [info]speep, [info]fluffyduck and also Dan and [info]tachikoma, all of whom helped me find things to fix.
• Why is this list so long...?

So yes.

And the photo shoot went well - all that remains is to find out if the editor liked it. They're on holiday, but if I'm lucky, there'll be an email for me Monday morning going "YAY". Well, words to that effect.

Also I am so tired. And in love with the new Future of the Left album (<3 FALKO). And I'm moving house soon, how exciting is that? I should do an actual life post update some time soon...

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, THAT IS SO PRETTY! Aww, she's all cute and little and delicate. I really love the pale kind of atmosphere compared to the really abrupt whiteness of her hair and the dark tan of her skin. Gorgeous. :3

She's perfect! She's kind of scrawny and delicate-ish looking, which is totally to her advantage, because she can kick ass if nessicary.

I so will! Squee!

Oh lord - I have to send you that book! I'm pretty sure I have your address, so I'll try to get Mom to get us to the post office tomorrow.

Eta: ... and now I see the 'moving' bit. >_> Yeah, I am observant.

It's okay! If you have my address, that will be the house where my sister lives, so even if I've moved out by the time it gets here, it'll reach here safe and sound and will be in the hands of someone trustworthy. I'm not quite sure exactly when I'm moving in, anyway...

Yessss, I am! It's the best thing ever, I'll be closer to nearly everybody, which is absolutely amazing. We should have a phone conversation about it or something. Or maybe a dinner conversation. :D

Aww, I'm so flattered! It's actually just a photoshop file, so we could do one of two things - I could get it printed over here and mail it to you guys (I would probably get it printed on canvas? It'd look pretty neat that way, like a physical painting), or I could send the file to you (I'd probably stick it up on my website for you to download), and you could get it printed out your way. The second is cheaper...no postage, but the quality of print might not be the same. I don't mind, though! I can give you a rough quote for whichever you prefer, or both? I feel bad charging, though, hah.

It probably won't print any larger than A4, though, because of the size I drew it at, is that okay?

Mom says that the first one sounds awesome, and we'll probably go with that if it's not too much.

Cool, I'll see if I can find out how much it'll cost (I'll try to find somewhere that doesn't cost too much!), and I'll let you know!

Eep, I haven't forgotten about you! I've only just settled down from moving house, so hopefully I can find somewhere around my new house to print. I'm so sorry for the delay, dood.
