brrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiinssss.....
At work, in front of a bad print-out of a picture of a girl which hadn't yet been colour-corrected:

Art Director: "She looks like something out of Resident Evil II."
Production Manager: "Are you going to fix her?"
Art Director: "Of course not. The zombie look is in this season."

For some weird reason, I've been having lots of conversations about zombies lately. I've decided they must have slowly become the new topic du jour or something...

I met a friend's new firefighter boyfriend, and when I commented his fire station was giving me flashbacks to Quarantine, it started an epic conversation about the merits of old vs new zombies.

And at a friend's birthday party, there was an odd side-track of a large group of people into an hour-long discussion of various zombie-related topics, including how we'd improve the so-called "zombie walks", which somehow ended up suggesting staging full-scale military actions in the city.

I decided that people love talking about zombies because they're one of the few traditional enemies that don't require brute strangth to fight. People like to talk about strategy, or technique, or whatever... thus they appeal to everyone, because a la Sean of The Dead, white-shirted cubicle-dwellers can take them down just as easily as anyone else. Nerds love that shit, don't we?

Also, World War Z is an absolutely excellent book.

You can't help but think about shit like optimum weapons, vehicles, protection and fort.

For sure - and now, having read World War Z, I'm thinking international relations, world-wide strategy... it's like a whole extra level to the usual dilemmas.

And of course, whether you head for the islands depends on whether the zombies can swim.

Well, then you really DO need to read "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies", now, don't you?

Grey :)

(I keep thinking of that zombified photo of you that our two stalkers made of you!)

Basically the story stays true to the original Pride and Prejudice, except that there are the occasional zombie attacks or comparisons of zombie-killing abilities between Lizzy and Mr. D'Arcy. *snickers* The guy stayed true to the language, etc., so you'll def get a feel for the real story along with the new one.

You know, I suddenly remembered I never asked if you wanted a copy of the Wraeththu photo book that Storm's buddy created. Hmmm?

Love you,

Grey ;)

I would be so all about a zombie edition of the mag. I think it'd sell like nothing else.

Actually we have to un-zombify plenty of girls... This just might work...

Dude, when were Zombies (capital Z!) ever really out?
They've just entered the mainstream once again, like that time in 1976.

I remember The Great Zombie Epidemic of 1976. We had the fight them Zombies with naught but our teeth. We had to walk uphill in the snow both ways to fight em too, and when we were done pickin' brains out of our hair, we were GLAD for the entertainment! Kids these days...

But yes, Zombies are always chic. They're kind of in all year 'round...spring, summer, autumn or winter. Versatile!

Well, Alexander McQueen had a giant scrap heap as a runway this season, and models with hubcaps on their heads, so we've covered Derelicte - maybe zombie couture is next...?

(Hai, stalking!)

I find myself having conversations about zombies unnervingly often, to the point where I go into detailed rants about tactics and escape routes and even what I'd have in an emergency rations pack if zombies were to attack...

Because I am cool! :D

Also, I drew you a crappy, mouse drawn picture of feral!frank for you, to go with your, y'know, amazing one of Gerard. Mine is all foggy and overworked because, like. Mouse. :/ But! Enjoy any old how. :3

O SHI- YOU DID THIS WITH A MOUSE?! That's fucking amazing! I swear I could barely draw a circle with a mouse, that's awesome.

I love his big shiny eyes, and that little quirk of the eyebrow and lip that's all like "You wanna make something of it?". You got so so much personality in there! Aww, Frankie, snookums. He's gorgeous, thank youuuuuu! ♥ ♥ ♥

I hope those hearts come out right. I'm such a spaz. But seriously, I'm so touched, ty ty ty ty ty ty! This completely made my morning.

Haha, I got carried away and forgot the rest - talking zombie tactics is DEFINITELY COOL SHUT UP EVERYONE ELSE - have you ever read World War Z? It's this awesome novel about what would happen if the world got hit with surprise!zombies out of nowhere, and so it's like this extra awesome extension to talking tactics, because not only are you, "What would I do if they came in my window", you're like "I wonder how zombies would affect the political relationship between America and Cuba after the zombie war?"
