the recovery position





Yeah, I have no idea. It's not quite the recovery position either, shhhhh....


Randomly, I'm worried I might be becoming a little more of a fashion nerd. It's vaguely embarrassing because it's not as though I actually need more things to be a nerd about. I've already got books, the internet, games, design and technology sorted... don't worry, though, if I ever start buying like, gold Fendi fur coats rather than a PS3, I have friends I can trust to shoot me.

But yes, I got excited today because one of the fashion editors put me in contact with a designer so that I could buy the sample of a dress of theirs. Samples are the cheaper and possibly slightly dodgier versions of a garment that are made before it goes into production, I believe?

But anyway, the dress is a ridiculously obnoxiously orange and blue and black checked thing, and everyone will probably be horrified but I love it. YAY. You guys will seriously laugh, it'll be awesome.

See, I'd never survive in your office: too fashion unconscious. It's all I can be bothered to do to pick a shirt out in the mornings and put it over a pair of business pants!

Pfft, it's not like everyone in the office is all fashionable - it varies widely, honestly. I just happen to sit right next door to the fashion staff, so maybe I get a skewed view!

I'd honestly really hate it if I became the kind of person who looked down on other people because of their clothes, though, so I'm glad that even though they like clothes, no-one in our office is like that. It's not all Devil Wears Prada, thank goodness.

For an analogy, for me it's a fun visual thing, kind of like art - but I love all my friends regardless of whether they can draw or not. Most of them are seriously awesome at many other things that I'm incompetent at (eg writing. ;). So uh, that was a long way of saying, "don't worry!", I think...?

But seriously, I'm not sure how people have the time to work out their fashion before they go to work. It really is all I can do to roll out of bed and grab something to put on in the mornings!

I do kind of do pretty much the same thing - I think the trick is to just have really, really nice things to roll out and grab...? I think that's how they do it, anyway. That and really good colour sense. ._.

It would doubtless help... I have a nice wardrobe, but I suck in the "picking things that go together" department. :/

Oh well, I look presentable, and (mostly) non-geeky. Which, I think, is the important part...

Hahaha, that sounds like the most expensive item in the cosmos. I wouldn't be able to afford to eat again before I died. XD;

I was actually amazed to find out that Fendi make gold fur coats by vapourising actual gold and getting it into the fur in this kind of weird space-age alchemy. How can people afford that? It's terrifying...
