ghost-o-rail
I caught the monorail today out of curiosity to see if it got me across the city faster (Answer: yes. Hidden question - is really it worth the eighty bajillion dollars it costs? Answer: no).
The major drawcard of the monorail is, of course, the fact that it hugs the city buildings throughout most of its run, and so you can stare into the third-story windows that you go past like some kind of goggle-eyed voyeur.
I was waiting for the moment where I passed a shadowy window, and looked into a pair of crazed eyes, slowly rising from the blood-splattered body at their feet. Then they'd realise that I'd seen them, and there'd be a chase scene where they try to pursue me across the city to silence me forever... or something. But no, a distinct lack of murderers this time.
Perhaps that's something they should start scheduling with the ride? Kind of like a post-modern horror train thing. Or they could just project holograms of ghosts in empty rooms every now and then. There have to be enough abandoned buildings around, right? Maybe then it'd be worth a kidney, or whatever it is they charge. Almost.
